The Culemborgse 60 days challenge
The Culemborgse 60 days challenge is a residents’ initiative based on an idea by Bwira Ndoole. He lives with his family in Culemborg and finds it important to dedicate himself to the community. Together with volunteers Elisabeth Le Belle and Frans de Bruin and neighborhood coaches from ElkWelzijn, he developed his idea into a plan. He received a contribution from the initiatives counter of the Municipality of Culemborg to be able to start implementing his idea.
What does the challenge entail?
- Every day a video is posted on YouTube and Facebook
- In this, someone does a sporting activity, for example push-ups or jumping rope.
- It tells about a historic location in Culemborg.
- Two words from the text are explained additionally.
- At the end of the video, the person in the video challenges someone else to also participate in the challenge
The initiatives counter has made a financial contribution. ElkWelzijn supports Bwira in setting up and implementing the project. Frans de Bruijn, who is a job help buddy for Bwira, thinks along about the plan and helps Bwira with the implementation. By Elisabeth le Belle, who provides background information about the history of Culemborg from the Tourist Information Point. Finally, the Learning House provides the words used in the videos.
In this way we want to ensure that as many Culemborgers as possible continue to work on their health during this Corona time. But also that residents feel even more connected to each other by participating in this online challenge. We hope to appeal to many residents with the information about the history of Culemborg. We also bring the city of Culemborg to the attention in a fun way. By also including words in the videos, people integrating are helped to learn the Dutch language
